THE ART OF
Dojo Aikido Zuerich
As the principal teacher of our Aikido Dojo I welcome and congratulate you in your courageous attempt at something perhaps completely new.
When I am asked what Aikido is, I often take a step back. There are many different explanations enfolded in the richness of Aikido. Aikido, the way the founder intended it, was meant to bring people closer together and it is open for people of all ages.
Aikido an art of communication
You will understand the meaning of Aikido by simply doing it. Because of that, I always invite people, who are interested in Aikido, to come and join us for training so they can make their own experience.
With consistent training combined with the variety of movements in Aikido you will enrich your vitality. In many ways the breathing and physical techniques will result in inner stability and balance. Therefore, do not hesitate, come and join us in a wonderful environment on the mountain overlooking the city. I hope to see you soon.
News: Information regarding Coronavirus
Dear members and Aikido interested website visitors,
due to the current coronavirus situation, we will not offer children / youth aikido classes this and neither next week, but only from March 16th onwards again.
As to the adult classes, as the coronavirus is more harmful to elder people, we would ask everyone to act resonsibly here and decide by him-/herself whether or not s/he should or can attend a class.
We will focus more on practicing with weapons to reduce direct body contact.
Please act according to the guidelines provided by the Bundesamt für Gesundheit (BAG):
1. If you have symptoms like breathing difficulties, cough and fever: stay at home and contact your doctor by phone.
2. Please wash your hands thoroughly (at least 20 seconds) BEFORE and AFTER class.
3. Please avoid touching your mouth/nose/eyes with your hands during class.
4. Please dispose of your used tissues in a closed bin.
Our dojo will operate according to the guidelines and recommendations of BAG as well as the administration of the City of Zurich.
